Since you can drive all the way up to the summit of Tábor, the walk starts off downhill for a change.

This route is also suitable for a pram. Without a pram you can shorten it a little by following the blue trail.

Alain Tower is a neo-Gothic tower that originally served the estate owners as a hunting perch, so don’t expect sweeping views of the countryside – but together with the surrounding clearing it makes a lovely quiet spot that is well worth a visit.

A relaxed walk near Lomnice. You can park at the swimming pool. Several wooden sculptures are placed around the pond and there’s a playground here too.

Ski jumps in Lomnice

A short trip to an unconventional lookout tower. In Lomnice you can climb right up to the top of a ski jump, which offers a superb view of the Giant Mountains, among other things. The floorboards didn’t inspire much confidence during our visit, so hopefully someone will repair them soon.

The car park is right below the jumps.

You can either just climb the tower and walk back to the car, or walk with the kids to the nice playground in Lomnice and have one of the adults go back for the car, as we did.
