Krásná stráň

Krásná stráň has conditions that are unique for the Czech Republic. The rocky, southeast-facing slope has an almost Mediterranean climate. Thanks to that, our largest lizard thrives here, as do succulents. Incidentally, nearby Dobřichovice holds the record for the highest temperature ever measured in the Czech Republic.

You can park on the flat area in the old quarry. From there you can scramble up a little path onto the ridge and follow it all the way to the top. In summer, though, it can be fairly overgrown and it may be better to use the green trail. It’s only a small detour.

From the ridge, turn left along the green trail to Vonoklasy. There are several ways to get back to Karlík. The longest one leads past the old quarry below Velká skála, which is known for its fossil finds.

The red trail takes you past the ruins of Karlík Castle, of which not much is left, back to where you started.
