Bílina fairy-tale forest

In Bílina they have a forest full of sculptures of fairy-tale characters. You can drive almost right up to it, but why not take a walk around the area?

You can park in the car park by the swimming pool. The yellow trail then climbs steeply past the chateau garden to the place where a Slavic hillfort once stood, though nothing remains of it now.

Once you’ve gained the altitude, the path continues pleasantly along the hillside.

Not only history lovers will enjoy the chance to test their knowledge of Czech rulers and presidents. Their names and the dates of their reigns are on the trees along the path. Hence the name Trail of History.

The way passes quickly and not long after the junction with the blue trail, the fairy-tale forest itself begins. Kids will be thrilled, there are lots of sculptures and they’re very nicely made. Besides fairy-tale characters you’ll also find animal sculptures and a beautiful photo point with a view of the local landmark, Bořeň hill.
